Open Source Mesh Wireless Networks

Billions of dollars are being committed and invested in wireless infrastructures for emergency services, security, municipalities, and transportation. Building these networks using an open source mesh provides an enormous number of benefits to the public or private institutions building the network, and has the side benefit of providing connectivity to those who share the same geography if the networks are open.

By using existing open-source, off-the-shelf technology and inexpensive hardware, it is possible to build networks that are decentralized, redundant, and scalable, with lower capital and operating costs, as well as accommodate dynamic geographic areas of coverage and leverage previous wireless infrastructure investments.
